Application

Thermon HTSX self-regulating trace heating cables are designed specifically for process temperature maintenance for temperatures up to 150°C or freeze protection where high temperature exposure capability is required. HTSX withstands the temperature exposures associated with steam purging. Constructed using Thermon’s unique and proven monolithic co-extrusion process, HTSX is the market leading self-regulating heat tracing technology.

The heat output of the HTSX cables varies in response to the surrounding conditions along the entire length of a circuit. Whenever the heat loss of the insulated pipe, tank or equipment increases (as ambient temperature drops), the heat output of the cable increases. Conversely, when the heat loss decreases (as the ambient temperature rises or product flows), the cable reacts by reducing its heat output. HTSX heat tracing cables are available with a fluoropolymer (FOJ) overjacket for higher chemical resistance against aggressive organics and corrosives.

The HTSX heat trace cables are approved for use in ordinary (nonclassified) areas and hazardous (classified) areas.
