Application

Thermon FP parallel resistance constant wattage heating cables are designed to provide freeze protection and process temperature maintenance for temperatures up to 65°C. FP heating cables can be installed on piping, tanks, vessels and equipment. When powered off these cables can withstand continuous exposure temperatures of up to 204°C. All FP cables have a fluoropolymer (FOJ) overjacket which provides high chemical resistance against aggressive organics and corrosives.

The parallel resistance configuration allows the cables to be cut to length and terminated in the field with easy-to-use Thermon kits. FP cables provide consistent and reliable heat outputs regardless of circuit length and are not subject to the inrush current (also known as startup current) associated with self-regulating heating cables. Therefore the need for over sizing power distribution equipment is eliminated.

FP cables are approved for use in ordinary (nonclassified) areas, hazardous (classified) areas and Zone 2 classified areas.
