Application
The TraceNet ECM-Ambient thermostat line is designed to provide ambient sensing control of electric heat tracing circuits for freeze protection of piping and vessels. This thermostat can be used to control a heating circuit or as pilot control of a contactor switching multiple heat tracing circuits. ECM controllers can withstand a wide range of ambient temperatures where heat tracing for freeze protection or temperature maintenance is applied: from the Arctic -74°C to desert 55°C environments. The ECM-Ambient range provides energy savings and precise control for heat trace circuits.
The ECM-Ambient modules are housed in a glass reinforced nonmetallic Terminator wall mounted enclosure with an environmental protection IP66 rating. Rotary switches are provided for adjusting the temperature setpoint.
The standard versions of the ECM controllers can communicate on a RS485 physical network by using a Modbus RTU communication protocol. This also allows the controllers to be monitored via a PC using the free to use Thermon TraceView Network Explorer software or to integrate the controllers in a BMS or customized monitoring system.
The ECM-Ambient control modules are approved for use in both ordinary (nonclassified) and hazardous (classified) areas.
